Most people never think about the rules of war until they are broken. If War Comes to You turns those rarely discussed laws into lived experience, placing the viewer inside life-and-death decisions through the eyes of a civilian teenager, a soldier and an aid worker.
Approach
The task was to make complex humanitarian law felt rather than merely explained. Created together with Johan Büchler and produced in collaboration with the Danish Red Cross, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the European Legal Support Group (ELSG), the project had to balance journalistic seriousness with cinematic urgency and interactivity.
Outcome
The project became a standout piece of purpose-driven interactive storytelling and sparked recognition across digital, communication and journalism awards. Travis has also made Brothers Across Borders for the same client relationship, making the Red Cross collaboration broader than a single project.
